New photos from backpacking through Yosemite and Toiyabe National Forest.
I’m hiking a section of the Pacific Crest Trail beginning this Saturday. Sonora Pass to Tuolumne Meadows. I could get used to this.
I’m super jealous I wasn’t here for this.
After descending Mount Jenkins we decided to take a lunch at a small spring just before Joshua Tree Springs. Despite hearing there was “very unafraid bears” in the area, we took food and such out of our bags and laid down. I took off my shoes and was facing the direction of the camera, while my hiking partners were facing me. I thought I saw a deer, but when it walked onto the trail it turned out to be a bear! We yelled at him, but he didn’t really give a shit (to the point he sat down and itched his head with his foot). After I took an out of focus picture, I ran barefoot until I was far enough away to put on shoes.
The same marmot drying off and then stretching with some seriously good camera work.
Morgan finally got a chance to post all his photos from the PCT so far. I also got to hang with him for a few days and give him his new hat!
I got to visit my cat Walter, and Diana got me a hat that is not ill-fitting like my last. Plus I don’t have to rep AMD anymore. Now I rep Nachos. May 29th, 2011
I met up with Morgan, Justin and Tali on their seventh day on the PCT at Warner Springs. We soaked in the hot pool for some time, ate a big dinner, and made root beer floats. All in all, a real good zero day.
The hot pool, around 104 degrees.
The cold pool.
Straight up soaking.
Justin was way happy to get in on the root beer float.
The drive home.
